Microblading

Eyebrow microblading, commonly known as eyebrow embroidery or simply microblading, is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment that uses a tattooing technique to create the illusion of eyebrow hairs. While tattooing eyebrows has been around for centuries, microblading is quite a different practice in that it is performed by board-certified technicians and does not establish a large block of color for the eyebrow. Instead, eyebrow microblading penetrates the top layer of skin to create individual hair-like strokes for more realistic, dimensional, and natural-looking brows.

Why get eyebrow microblading treatments?

Who should not get eyebrow microblading treatments?

After years of plucking, waxing, or scarring, many people do not have or have never had the full, three-dimensional eyebrows they desire. Microblading is a semi-permanent solution and alternative tattooing method that creates subtle, natural-looking brows by mimicking the strokes of eyebrow hairs within the brow region. Microblading prevents expenditures on waxing and makeup and the time-consuming experience of shaving and plucking. With microblading treatments, many feel their eyebrows look fuller and more natural than even makeup can create. Even more feel confident about their appearance with and without makeup.

At Via Beauty & Brow, we want to help you feel the self-confidence that comes with having the eyebrows you have always dreamed of having. Microblading at Via Beauty & Brow is the safest semi-permanent method of alternative tattooing with the highest quality of trained personnel and equipment.

You should not get microblading treatments if you:

  • are under the age of 18
  • are pregnant or nursing
  • lie down for long periods at time
  • are undergoing chemotherapy
  • have epilepsy
  • are taking prescription blood thinners
  • have had an organ transplant
  • have had BOTOX® or other injectables in the previous 2 months
  • have used Accutane (Isotretinoin) in the past year
  • are allergic to topical anesthesia

F.A.Q.

When should I get my microblading?

Never get microblading treatments days before a big event. Some patients experience swelling or increased redness in the days following their treatments. This dissipates after a few days or so.

Are there any side effects?

Increased redness and swelling are normal and part of the healing process. Different creams can be applied to the region to help with these symptoms. In some cases, you may have bleeding, but a cold compress should stop this. Without the proper sterilized utensils, microblading can lead to infections. However, at Via Beauty & Brow our technicians are specially-trained in bloodbourne pathogen prevention and use disposable sterilized tools for the safest microblading experience.

What should I do to prepare for microblading treatment?

You should avoid plucking, waxing, or shaving in the week prior to your treatment as these processes leave the skin around the eyebrow very dry and irritated. Makeup can be worn the day of your treatment, but the eyebrow area will have to be sterilized prior to your microblading treatment.

What is the microblading procedure?

There is typically no pain for this procedure as Via Beauty & Brows’ medical director has a specially formulated topical anesthetic that is used to numb the area. After the artist sterilizes and numbs the area, the eyebrow shape is carefully sculpted to the liking of each client. The eyebrow is created one stroke at a time by depositing pigment in very fine hair-like strokes within the eyebrow region using a microblading needle pen.

How long is the microblading procedure?

The microblading technique is different based on the beauty goals of each patient and the size of the eyebrows desired. However, most treatments last two to two and a half hours.

What happens after my microblading procedure?

Some patients experience swelling, irritation, redness, or sliaght bleeding in the microblading area after the procedure. This can be cured by applying cold compresses to the region. Be sure to wash and dry the region very carefully and thoroughly to prevent infection. It is recommended that makeup not be applied to the treated area until the skin has completely healed.

How long before I can see a difference?

After a few days of healing, the brows will be at their fullest and best pigmented. Once the skin has healed, makeup can be applied to the region.

How long before I need to get another microblading procedure?

At Via Beauty & Brow, we offer your first touch-up free of charge. The first touch-up will typically occur between 6-12 weeks after your first session. This is because microblading takes two sessions to get the full, three-dimensional effect that signifies realistic eyebrows. We also offer the first touch-up free of charge because we want to ensure that each customer is fully satisfied with our work. After the primary touch-up, there is a special reduced rate for your second touch-up if it occurs within eighteen months of your original microblading appointment.
